Yoga is a physical, emotional and spiritual space where I feel loved, challenged and encouraged. It is a refuge from the world around me and respite from the thoughts inside my mind. It is a journey I embark on each day to create a stronger, more vibrant and centered self.
Yoga is a window into a healthier version of myself, one that I open a little more each time I practice.
Yoga is a vision of who I am when I am calm, focused and determined. A vision I manifest each time I practice.
Yoga is a sanctuary I can retreat to when I get overwhelmed or feel hurt. A sanctuary I hold closer each time I practice.
I practice yoga because it makes me feel good. At the end of class the cacophony of the day is silenced, my body is cleansed and my muscles are spent. I am balanced and restored. When I practice regularly my sleep is deeper, my eating healthier and my days more vibrant.
This feeling of spiritual, emotional and physical well being is, for me, the essence of yoga.
