When you strip away your social status, professional accomplishments and material things, who are you? In the moment of silence amidst the cacophony of life and responsibilities, who are you? In the waking moments before dawn as the earth liest in slumber, who are you?
Yoga has a depth that defies full understanding. Within this beautiful diversity lies a dissonance waiting to be uncovered by the yoga student, whether the student is a teacher, a master or guru.
Yoga is a sanctuary where I meet myself. Coming to my mat each day brings me closer to myself. As I strengthen my body the outer shell of my being more closely resembles who I truly am. When I practice yoga the anxious toiling of my mind quiets and slowly ceases leaving space for calm creativity and a blossoming of gratitude.
